The Holy Spirit (Pneumatology)

Since it is Pentecost, I thought I would post some notes I jotted down a while back during a study of the Holy Spirit (pneumatology). Basically, He is God and He Points us to Jesus.

• The third person of the trinity
• God’s spirit (Romans 8:9)
• God's breath (Genesis 1:1-3), just as Jesus is God's Word.
• He comes as fire (Acts 2:3) and as a dove (Mark 1:10, Matthew 3:16)
• His work comes as rain (Acts 2:17) and as rivers (John 7:37-39)
• Means by which creation was made (Job 26:13)
• Creates faith in Jesus in People, by his indwelling
• Creates life in people who look to God (Job 33:4; Psalm 104:30)
• Instructs his people (Nehemiah 9:20)
• Leads you and teaches you God’s will (Psalm143:10)
• Is with you and brings wisdom, understanding, council, might, knowledge, and fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2)
• The Person of the trinity who is with/in you, who searches and knows you (Psalm 139:1-24, Romans 8:9)
• Speaks through people, reveals God’ word (2 Samuel 23:1-3; Ezekiel 11:5)
• When you don’t trust God it is rebelling against the Spirit (Psalm 106:32-33)
